Victory Bicycle Studio on Broad Avenue has announced a deal with 3T Cycling, an international cycling component maker, to bring the company’s North American Customer Service and Repair Center for wheels to Memphis.
“This is a new, cutting-edge industry being created in Memphis, and it’s going to have a large, positive economic impact on the city,” Victory owner Clark Butcher said in a news release.
Butcher said he will put the service and distribution center in the Binghamton area, where his retail store is already located, and plans to staff the center with youth from the neighborhood.
A spokeswoman said the venture will operate out of Victory Bicycle until a warehouse is ready, hopefully in August or September. She estimated two to three people could be hired in the first year.
