About The Assos Women's UMA GT Spring Fall Cycling Bib Tights S11

The Assos Women's UMA GT Spring Fall Bib Tights S11 are a midweight endurance tight built for riding in the 53–68°F range, where a summer bib is too thin and a winter tight is too much. What sets them apart is POLAR, a new Assos textile with a brushed inner face and 50% pre-consumer recycled content — a material developed specifically for the GT S11 and tested to deliver thermoregulation, breathability, and stretch without compromise. At 234g, they sit comfortably in carry-on range for travel riding.

The bib construction is borrowed from Assos's Racing Series: an external rollBar strap that locks the bib in place without pressure points, adapted here for the GT's endurance-tuned fit. The insert is the rider-favorite UMA pad upgraded with a Sundeck pressure-relief panel — a trickledown from the RS lineup that targets long-saddle-time hot spots. The result is a tight that covers shoulder-season riding without feeling like a seasonal compromise.

Who It's For

  • Road and gravel riders logging 3–5+ hour efforts in spring or fall conditions
  • Riders who find summer bibs inadequate below 60°F but dislike the bulk of full winter tights
  • Endurance cyclists who prioritize all-day insert comfort over race-day aero properties
  • Riders who want PFAS-free, OEKO-TEX certified kit without sacrificing fit or function

Riders doing primarily cold-weather riding (below 50°F) or those who need windproofing on exposed descents should look at a heavier insulation tier — the GT S11 rates 1/5 on windproofing.

What to Look For

  • Temperature window: The GT S11 is calibrated for 53.6–68°F. If your target rides frequently dip below that, consider a warmer option; if they're mostly above it, the tight may feel heavy mid-ride.
  • Insert fit: The UMA insert with Sundeck panel is designed for regular fit geometry. Riders who have found other Assos inserts too firm in specific contact zones should note the Sundeck panel addresses that directly.
  • Sustainability tradeoffs: POLAR uses pre-consumer recycled inputs and is PFAS-free — for riders who weight this in purchasing decisions, it's worth knowing the material was performance-validated, not just green-badged.

Key Features

POLAR Fabric. The main fabric (86% Polyamide, 14% Elastane) uses a brushed inner face for warmth-to-weight efficiency in the shoulder-season range. Half the material comes from pre-consumer recycled sources, and it carries OEKO-TEX certification with no PFAS treatments. Assos tested it against their standard performance benchmarks before releasing it — breathability rates 4/5, insulation 3/5.

External rollBar Bib Strap. Adapted from the Racing Series, this construction routes the bib strap externally to eliminate pressure on the lower back and core. It maintains position across varied riding positions — useful on long climbs, gravel, or any ride with frequent position changes.

UMA GT S11 Insert with Sundeck Panel. The 12mm UMA insert is the endurance-spec pad in the Assos lineup. The GT S11 version adds a Sundeck panel — a softer, pressure-redistributing layer at key contact points — borrowed from the RS product range. Designed specifically for rides where insert fatigue accumulates over hours.

Rider Intent Summary

  • Biggest strengths: Calibrated thermoregulation for the 53–68°F window; long-ride insert comfort via the Sundeck panel; lightweight at 234g with sustainable fabric credentials
  • Tradeoffs: Minimal wind and water resistance (1/5 each) — not suited for exposed or wet conditions; racing-specific aero properties are secondary to endurance comfort
  • What makes it different: POLAR textile is unique to this garment — a new Assos-developed fabric that balances recycled content with verified thermal and stretch performance, paired with Racing Series bib architecture in an endurance platform

Victory's Take

At Victory Bicycle Studio, we reach for the GT S11 when customers ask what to wear between their summer kit and their winter tights — it's a specific problem this tight solves well, and the Sundeck insert upgrade makes a real difference on longer days in the saddle.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you offer free shipping?

We do offer free shipping on non-bike orders over $100. We do not offer free shipping for bicycles unless it is a one time promotion. Generally, bike shipping will cost $150 and that covers just the shipping of the bike with no assembly. If you were to bring that bike to your local mechanic or bike store, you would pay them their assembly fee. If you choose our Professional Assembly option for $200, our service technicians would assemble the bike before shipping and then re-pack the bike safely for transit. When you receive the bike you would attach the front wheel, attach the seatpost/saddle, and raise the handlebars and clamp them. Those three items do have to be detached to minimize or eliminate the chance of damage in transit.

How much does shipping cost?

For orders of parts, accessories, apparel, etc. on orders under $100, shipping is a flat rate of $9.99. Regular bike shipping without assembly is $150, bike shipping with Professional Assembly is an additional $200 (so $350 in total which includes the $150 of regular shipping). Our White Glove Delivery option is $699 and that will cover the assembly of the bike and our White Glove Delivery partner delivering your dream bike to your front door, ready to ride!

How can I track my order?

When you place your online order, you will receive an instantaneous email update with your order number and order details, and shortly after, you will receive a follow up order email with the tracking number for your order.  If you still need assistance with your order, feel free to email us at online@victorybicyclestudio.com and we will respond asap.
