About The Assos Winter Cycling Gloves P1
The Assos Winter Cycling Gloves P1 are built for cold, wet rides in the 39–52°F range — conditions where a thinner glove fails and a bulkier one costs you feel at the bar. The P1 generation brings more insulation and a softer interior lining than its predecessor while keeping the same streamlined profile. Windproof construction rated 5/5 shields against the primary heat-loss driver in winter riding, and a water-repellent palm maintains grip when roads are wet.
Where most winter gloves trade bar feel for warmth, the P1 holds both. The 107-gram build sits closer to a performance-fit glove than a utility one, and touchscreen-compatible fingertips mean you can use your device without pulling them off. Padding is deliberately matched to Assos summer and shoulder-season gloves, so riders moving through the product range year-round won't feel a change in contact geometry.
Who It's For
- Road and gravel riders who train through winter and need a glove rated for genuine cold-weather use, not just cool fall mornings
- Racers and performance riders who won't accept a bulky glove that dulls feel or slows shifting
- Riders in the 39–52°F range who see wet roads regularly and need water-repellent protection without full waterproofing weight
- Endurance riders spending long hours in the saddle, where touchscreen access and consistent padding matter
- Consider a warmer option if your regular rides drop below 39°F or involve sustained wet conditions — the P1's waterproof rating (3/5) is protective, not submersion-grade
What to Look For
- Temperature fit: The P1 is rated 39.2–51.8°F. If your rides frequently run colder, you'll want a glove with higher insulation; if they run warmer, the P1 may cause overheating on climbs
- Fit and bar feel: The regular fit and low-profile construction are intentional for performance use — riders who prefer more padding or a looser thermal fit should compare against more heavily insulated options
- Riding intensity: Rated 3/5 for breathability and quick-drying, the P1 suits moderate-to-hard efforts; sustained high-intensity riding may generate more heat than the glove manages comfortably
Key Features
Windproof shell with water-repellent palm. The outer layer — 85% polyester, 15% elastane — provides a 5/5 windproof rating that blocks the primary source of cold-weather heat loss. The palm's water-repellent finish adds grip security in rain without the stiffness of a fully waterproofed material.
Updated P1 insulation and lining. Compared to the previous generation, this version adds more insulation and a softer interior lining (100% polyester) for improved comfort on longer winter rides. The 4/5 insulation rating places it firmly in the winter tier without the bulk that dulls finger dexterity.
Touchscreen-compatible fingertips. The touch insert (50% polyamide, 50% polyurethane) is integrated into the fingertip construction — compatible with touchscreen devices without requiring glove removal mid-ride.
Consistent padding with Assos summer gloves. The padding profile is matched to Assos's summer and shoulder-season gloves. For riders who use Assos across seasons, this removes the adjustment period typically caused by switching glove thickness.
OEKO-TEX certified, PFAS-free materials. All textiles meet OEKO-TEX standards and are produced without PFAS chemicals — relevant for riders who prioritize material transparency.
Rider Intent Summary
- Biggest strengths: Maximum windproofing (5/5) in a 107g package with genuine bar feel; touchscreen access; consistent padding year-round within the Assos ecosystem
- Tradeoffs: Waterproofing (3/5) is protective but not suited for prolonged heavy rain; breathability is moderate, which limits this glove at very high intensities
- What makes it different: The P1 prioritizes performance feel over maximum insulation — it's a winter glove built to the same fit standards as a summer glove, not a compromise toward utility

Frequently Asked Questions
Do you offer free shipping?
We do offer free shipping on non-bike orders over $100. We do not offer free shipping for bicycles unless it is a one time promotion. Generally, bike shipping will cost $150 and that covers just the shipping of the bike with no assembly. If you were to bring that bike to your local mechanic or bike store, you would pay them their assembly fee. If you choose our Professional Assembly option for $200, our service technicians would assemble the bike before shipping and then re-pack the bike safely for transit. When you receive the bike you would attach the front wheel, attach the seatpost/saddle, and raise the handlebars and clamp them. Those three items do have to be detached to minimize or eliminate the chance of damage in transit.
How much does shipping cost?
For orders of parts, accessories, apparel, etc. on orders under $100, shipping is a flat rate of $9.99. Regular bike shipping without assembly is $150, bike shipping with Professional Assembly is an additional $200 (so $350 in total which includes the $150 of regular shipping). Our White Glove Delivery option is $699 and that will cover the assembly of the bike and our White Glove Delivery partner delivering your dream bike to your front door, ready to ride!
How can I track my order?
When you place your online order, you will receive an instantaneous email update with your order number and order details, and shortly after, you will receive a follow up order email with the tracking number for your order.
