About The Assos Women's UMA GTV Spring Fall Cycling Vest S11
The Assos Women's UMA GTV Spring Fall Cycling Vest S11 is a three-season layering piece built for riders who need targeted weather protection without sacrificing breathability or packability. At 144 grams, it covers the critical temperature window between 53–68°F and handles the kind of variable conditions — wind, light rain, dropping temps mid-ride — where a full jacket is too much and a base layer isn't enough.
What separates the GTV from a standard softshell vest is Assos's zone-specific construction. The CORE Light softshell — a waterproof, windproof membrane (>25,000mm water column) — covers the shoulders and chest, the zones that take the most wind and rain exposure on a moving rider. The belly and mid-section use LITHIUM Medium insulation, a higher-stretch midweight material that prioritizes freedom of movement over weather resistance. The result is meaningful protection where it counts, without restricting breathing or pedaling mechanics across the midsection.
Who It's For
- Road and gravel riders who train through spring and fall and need a packable vest for shoulder-season conditions
- Riders who already own the GT Spring Fall Jersey C2 — the raw-cut cuffs and overall volume are designed to layer cleanly over it
- Women seeking a vest that handles a light rain shower, not sustained wet weather
- Riders who run hot and need the rear panel's breathability to manage temperature on climbs or harder efforts
Consider a full jacket instead if your typical ride involves sustained rain or temperatures consistently below 50°F.
What to Look For
- Fit and layering clearance: The regular fit is designed to layer over a jersey; if you typically size up in vests for layering room, stay with your standard Assos size given the raw-cut cuffs keep bulk down
- Ride intensity match: Rated 3/5 for ride intensity — suits moderate-effort road rides; high-output intervals may overheat the insulated front panel
- Weather window: This is a wind-and-light-rain vest, not a rain jacket — the 13,400 g/m²/24hr breathability rating reflects a balance point between protection and ventilation
Key Features
CORE Light Softshell (Shoulders and Chest): The membrane across the body's leading edge is both waterproof (>25,000mm water column) and windproof, blocking the primary exposure zone on a descending or headwind effort. The OEKO-TEX certified, PFAS-free construction means the durable water repellency doesn't rely on fluorinated chemicals.
LITHIUM Medium Insulation (Belly Panel): The mid-section uses a stretchier, midweight insulated fabric rather than extending the softshell. This keeps the vest from restricting breathing mechanics and adds thermal retention where the body needs it without the stiffness of a full membrane across the torso.
Rear Panel: A lightweight, high-breathability back panel (rated 4/5) allows heat and moisture vapor to escape during efforts. This is the primary thermoregulation valve — critical for variable-intensity rides where you're generating varying amounts of heat.
Raw-Cut Cuffs: No banding or hem at the cuffs means less bunching when layering under a jersey's cuffs and slightly less thermal mass in the arm channel. Designed specifically for use over the GT Spring Fall Jersey C2.
Packability: At 144g, the vest compresses small enough to pocket mid-ride if conditions improve.
Rider Intent Summary
- Biggest strengths: Zone-specific protection — genuine waterproof/windproof coverage up front with active breathability at the back; extremely light and packable
- Tradeoffs: Insulation rating is moderate (2/5); not designed for sustained cold or heavy rain; rear panel breathability means less thermal retention for slower or low-output riding
- What makes it different: The split-material construction (CORE Light softshell + LITHIUM Medium insulation in a single vest) addresses two different weather protection needs simultaneously rather than compromising between them
Victory's Take
At Victory Bicycle Studio, we reach for the GTV Vest when a rider needs one piece that works across the widest range of spring and fall conditions without committing to a jacket. The weight-to-protection ratio is genuinely hard to beat in this category.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do you offer free shipping?
We do offer free shipping on non-bike orders over $100. We do not offer free shipping for bicycles unless it is a one time promotion. Generally, bike shipping will cost $150 and that covers just the shipping of the bike with no assembly. If you were to bring that bike to your local mechanic or bike store, you would pay them their assembly fee. If you choose our Professional Assembly option for $200, our service technicians would assemble the bike before shipping and then re-pack the bike safely for transit. When you receive the bike you would attach the front wheel, attach the seatpost/saddle, and raise the handlebars and clamp them. Those three items do have to be detached to minimize or eliminate the chance of damage in transit.
How much does shipping cost?
For orders of parts, accessories, apparel, etc. on orders under $100, shipping is a flat rate of $9.99. Regular bike shipping without assembly is $150, bike shipping with Professional Assembly is an additional $200 (so $350 in total which includes the $150 of regular shipping). Our White Glove Delivery option is $699 and that will cover the assembly of the bike and our White Glove Delivery partner delivering your dream bike to your front door, ready to ride!
How can I track my order?
When you place your online order, you will receive an instantaneous email update with your order number and order details, and shortly after, you will receive a follow up order email with the tracking number for your order.
