About The ENVE Aero Road Bicycle Stem
The Enve Aero Road Bicycle Stem is a full-carbon stem built for road riders who prioritize aerodynamic position without sacrificing fit flexibility. Available in six lengths from 90mm to 140mm and compatible with an angle shim that shifts the rise from -12° fixed to -17°/-7°, it's one of the few stems that lets you refine both reach and drop after initial purchase — a meaningful advantage when dialing in a race or performance road position.
Developed with Team Dimension Data for WorldTour-level demands, the stem's profile was shaped specifically to reduce drag at the front of the bike. Because the rider accounts for 80–90% of total aerodynamic drag, the stem's primary contribution is enabling a lower, cleaner position — including the ability to eliminate headset spacers entirely, which reduces turbulence where the fork meets the frame. The aluminum faceplate and titanium hardware balance clamping reliability with weight savings, with stem weights ranging from 165g (90mm) to 190g (140mm).
Who It's For
- Road racers and performance gran fondo riders building toward an aerodynamic position
- Riders who've completed a professional bike fit and need a stem that holds a precise, low configuration
- Athletes who want adjustable rise (-12° fixed, or -7°/-17° with the angle shim) without purchasing a second stem
- Riders building around a 31.8mm handlebar and 1-1/8" steerer
Consider a different stem if you need a positive-rise configuration — this stem is designed for negative drop only and cannot be flipped or reversed.
What to Look For
- Length and rise interact. The angle shim changes both the available rise range and the stack height (42.5mm → 45.5mm). If you're between positions, factor in how the shim affects bar height before ordering.
- Spacer elimination amplifies the aero benefit. The stem's aerodynamic profile is most effective when run without headset spacers. If your fit requires significant stack, the drag savings are reduced.
- Confirm your fit before ordering. With six length options and two rise configurations, this stem covers a wide range of positions — but the fixed negative-drop geometry makes it purpose-built for aggressive or neutral-aggressive road setups. It rewards a dialed fit, not experimentation.
Key Features
Carbon body with asymmetric faceplate torque specs. The stem body is full carbon. The aluminum faceplate uses split torque values — 10Nm upper bolt, 6Nm lower bolt — a deliberate engineering choice that loads the handlebar evenly without over-stressing the carbon clamp interface. Titanium hardware saves weight at the fasteners and resists corrosion at this high-contact junction.
Adjustable length and angle in a single platform. Six lengths in 10mm increments (90–140mm) plus an optional angle shim that converts the fixed -12° to either -17° or -7° give riders meaningful post-purchase adjustability. The shim adds 3mm of stack height, which factors into headset spacer planning.
Aerodynamic profile with WorldTour input. The stem shape was developed alongside Team Dimension Data specifically for airflow management at the bar-to-fork junction. Combined with the option to eliminate spacers entirely, the front-end profile can be significantly cleaner than a conventional stem — a practical aero gain that doesn't require a fully integrated cockpit.
Linear weight progression across sizes. Each 10mm of added length adds approximately 5g, from 165g at 90mm to 190g at 140mm. Riders can order the length their fit requires without a meaningful weight penalty at either end.
Rider Intent Summary
- Biggest strengths: Adjustable length and angle in a single aero-profiled carbon stem; WorldTour-developed geometry; clean hardware execution with titanium fasteners and asymmetric torque specs
- Tradeoffs: Negative drop only — no positive-rise option; aero gains are most meaningful when run spacer-free, which requires a confirmed fit
- What makes it different: The combination of six-length adjustability with angle shim compatibility in a full-carbon, aerodynamically profiled stem is uncommon; most aero stems at this tier are fixed geometry
Victory's Take
We recommend the Enve Aero Road Stem to riders who've completed a fit and are ready to commit to a position — it's one of the cleaner ways to build an aero front end without moving to a fully integrated cockpit. At Victory Bicycle Studio, we'll pair it with a fit consultation to ensure you're ordering the right length and shim configuration from the start.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do you offer free shipping?
We do offer free shipping on non-bike orders over $100. We do not offer free shipping for bicycles unless it is a one time promotion. Generally, bike shipping will cost $150 and that covers just the shipping of the bike with no assembly. If you were to bring that bike to your local mechanic or bike store, you would pay them their assembly fee. If you choose our Professional Assembly option for $200, our service technicians would assemble the bike before shipping and then re-pack the bike safely for transit. When you receive the bike you would attach the front wheel, attach the seatpost/saddle, and raise the handlebars and clamp them. Those three items do have to be detached to minimize or eliminate the chance of damage in transit.
How much does shipping cost?
For orders of parts, accessories, apparel, etc. on orders under $100, shipping is a flat rate of $9.99. Regular bike shipping without assembly is $150, bike shipping with Professional Assembly is an additional $200 (so $350 in total which includes the $150 of regular shipping). Our White Glove Delivery option is $699 and that will cover the assembly of the bike and our White Glove Delivery partner delivering your dream bike to your front door, ready to ride!
How can I track my order?
When you place your online order, you will receive an instantaneous email update with your order number and order details, and shortly after, you will receive a follow up order email with the tracking number for your order. If you still need assistance with your order, feel free to email us at online@victorybicyclestudio.com and we will respond asap.
