Enve Melee V2 Carbon Road Bike Frameset

The Enve Melee V2 Carbon Road Bike Frameset is ENVE's first ground-up aero road race frame, built for riders who want a WorldTour-level race platform without a weight penalty. It was developed with aerodynamicist Simon Smart and tested at the Mercedes-Petronas wind tunnel with a rider on board. The Melee V2 pairs dedicated aero shaping with a 750–850g frame weight (depending on size) in ENVE M.O.D. carbon.

Many aero frames add weight and complexity, but the Melee V2 moves the other way. It has a 7.5% reduction in total frame surface area, a headset with smaller bearings, a lighter seatpost clamp, and a threaded BSA bottom bracket with UDH. ENVE reports that a 56cm build in the UL Black finish can reach a 6.8 kg complete bike, which is a notable figure for a disc-brake aero race bike. Room for tires up to 33mm (31mm optimal) keeps it practical on real roads.

What to Look For

• Fit first. The seven sizes (47–60cm) each have their own fork rake, so fit and handling change across the range. A professional bike fit confirms your size and cockpit dimensions before you build.

• Build plan. This is frame and fork only. Budget for a stem, handlebars, wheels, and groupset, and confirm that your cockpit works with ENVE In-Route internal routing.

• Finish choice. UL Black uses an ultralight clear coat over raw carbon and is 40g lighter than White Lightning and the other fully painted Melee V2 frames.

Key Features

Aero shaping developed with a rider on board. ENVE's Real-World Fast protocol shaped the tubes and components around the rider and bike together, not the frame alone. That puts the development work where it counts: in the conditions you actually ride.

Weight-focused details. The ENVE In-Route headset uses smaller -49.5mm bearings with an aluminum compression ring. The proprietary Melee V2 aero seatpost uses a lightweight rail clamp. Using a BSA threaded bottom bracket and UDH instead of proprietary standards saves weight, keeps service simple, and makes derailleur hangers easy to find.

Groupset and routing. ENVE In-Route internal routing works with mechanical groupsets, and the front derailleur uses a bolt-on, braze-on style mount. You can build the Melee V2 around the drivetrain you prefer.

Brakes, axles, and wheels. Flat mount disc brakes and 12x100mm front / 12x142mm rear thru-axles fit most current road disc wheelsets.

Fork rake by size. ENVE uses a different fork rake for each size, from 55mm on the 47cm to 39mm on the 60cm, rather than one fork for the whole range.

Warranty. The frameset is covered by the ENVE Limited Lifetime Warranty. Secondhand owners are covered too, from the date the frame was made.
