The Garmin Edge Explore 2 is for riders who want a dependable navigation companion without being buried in menus. It comes preloaded with road, off-road, and indoor ride profiles and sets itself up based on the sensors you pair, so it’s ready to ride almost straight out of the box.

The 3" color touchscreen shows cycling-specific maps that highlight popular roads and trails, flag high-traffic areas, and display road surface types, including unpaved sections. Turn-by-turn directions keep you on course. When curiosity pulls you off-route, Edge Explore 2 lets you pause guidance, then routes you back once you’re ready.

Battery life runs up to 16 hours in demanding use and up to 24 hours in battery saver mode. Your phone can stay in your jersey pocket, charged for when you actually need it.

Ride-Type-Specific Mapping. Preloaded TopoActive cycling maps use Trendline popularity routing and heatmaps to show where local riders actually go. On-device location search and course creation let you plan on the fly.

Effortless Course Planning. Build routes in Garmin Connect, Strava, Komoot, Wikiloc, and other platforms, then sync them to your Edge in seconds. The device stores up to 100 courses and 200 hours of ride history.

ClimbPro Ascent Planner. While following a route or course, ClimbPro automatically shows the remaining ascent and grade on each climb, so you can pace your effort to the summit. Saved climbs can be reviewed after the ride on the device or in Garmin Connect.

eBike Smart Range Routing. Paired with a compatible ANT+ eBike, Edge Explore 2 shows a dedicated status screen with battery life and other data. It also provides routing and range alerts based on battery level, assist mode, and your planned course.

Varia Radar & Light Integration. The unit works with Garmin Varia rearview radar, radar camera, lights, and headlight camera. You’ll see approaching vehicles on screen and be more visible to traffic.

Incident Detection & Safety Tools. With a paired smartphone, Edge Explore 2 can automatically send your location to emergency contacts if it detects an incident. It also offers LiveTrack, Group LiveTrack, weather alerts, road hazard alerts from fellow cyclists, and inReach compatibility for off-grid riding.

PIN-Protected Bike Alarm. During a café stop or water refill, the alarm notifies your paired phone if your bike is moved.

Group Riding, Connected. GroupTrack follows up to 50 riders using compatible Garmin devices. Rider-to-rider messaging keeps the group in touch when you get split up, and GroupRide adds live locations, in-ride climb leaderboards, and post-ride awards.

Indoor Training Ready. Edge Explore 2 pairs with Tacx smart trainers and controls them directly, so you can keep training through the off-season.

Smart Connectivity. You get smart notifications, music controls, weather forecasts, and spectator messaging from friends and family. Android users can also send text replies. Connect IQ data fields and apps can be downloaded right from the device.
