About The Parlee Taos Carbon Gravel Bike Frameset

The Parlee Taos is a one-piece, unidirectional monocoque carbon frameset built for riders assembling their own gravel build rather than buying complete. At 940g (56cm), it's a lightweight platform that uses Parlee's proprietary carbon layup to balance stiffness and weight without over-engineering either.

The layup maximizes torsional stiffness through the bottom bracket and head tube, so power transfer and handling stay sharp, while tuned flex zones take the edge off rough gravel. The frame includes downtube storage and stash bags, clean internal routing, a carbon tapered-steerer fork, and compatibility with current drivetrain and suspension standards. A ready-to-paint version is also available.

Who It's For

  • Riders who want to spec a custom gravel build around a specific groupset, wheelset, and cockpit

  • Riders prioritizing frame weight (940g) in a gravel platform

  • Riders who want built-in storage (downtube compartment plus stash bags) without adding bikepacking bags

  • Not a fit for riders who want a complete bike out of the box — this is a frameset only

What to Look For

  • This is a frameset, not a complete build — groupset, wheels, and cockpit are sourced separately

  • Seatpost choice affects fit: Parlee's carbon post has 25mm offset, while the FSA SL-K Carbon post is 0mm offset (31.6mm diameter) — offset shifts saddle position relative to the bottom bracket

  • Riders planning to carry gear should factor in the downtube storage capacity alongside any additional frame bags

Key Features

Frame and fork construction: The one-piece UD monocoque frame and fork is built from a precision carbon layup targeting stiffness at the bottom bracket and head tube, with flex zones elsewhere to manage trail chatter — the goal is responsive power transfer without a harsh ride.

Integrated storage: A downtube storage compartment plus stash bags give riders a place for tools, snacks, or a spare tube without needing external bags — useful for all-day gravel rides or light bikepacking.

Seatpost fit tuning: Two post options — Parlee's own 25mm-offset carbon post or the 0mm-offset FSA SL-K — let a fitter dial in saddle position based on the rider's reach and geometry needs.

Modern compatibility: Internal routing stays clean regardless of groupset choice, and the frame is built to current drivetrain and suspension standards, so it won't lock a rider into dated components.

Rider Intent Summary

  • Biggest strength: Light (940g) monocoque frameset with integrated storage built in

  • Tradeoff: Frameset only — full cost and component selection is on the buyer

  • What makes it different: Downtube storage integrated into the frame itself, plus a ready-to-paint option

Victory's Take

At Victory Bicycle Studio, we see the Taos as the right call for a rider who already knows their build and wants a light, purpose-cut platform rather than paying for parts they'll swap out anyway.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you offer free shipping?

We do offer free shipping on non-bike orders over $100. We do not offer free shipping for bicycles unless it is a one time promotion. Generally, bike shipping will cost $150 and that covers just the shipping of the bike with no assembly. If you were to bring that bike to your local mechanic or bike store, you would pay them their assembly fee. If you choose our Professional Assembly option for $200, our service technicians would assemble the bike before shipping and then re-pack the bike safely for transit. When you receive the bike you would attach the front wheel, attach the seatpost/saddle, and raise the handlebars and clamp them. Those three items do have to be detached to minimize or eliminate the chance of damage in transit.

How much does shipping cost?

For orders of parts, accessories, apparel, etc. on orders under $100, shipping is a flat rate of $9.99. Regular bike shipping without assembly is $150, bike shipping with Professional Assembly is an additional $200 (so $350 in total which includes the $150 of regular shipping). Our White Glove Delivery option is $699 and that will cover the assembly of the bike and our White Glove Delivery partner delivering your dream bike to your front door, ready to ride!

How can I track my order?

When you place your online order, you will receive an instantaneous email update with your order number and order details, and shortly after, you will receive a follow up order email with the tracking number for your order.  If you still need assistance with your order, feel free to email us at online@victorybicyclestudio.com and we will respond asap.
