About The SRAM Apex 1 10/11-Speed 1x 42T 110 BCD GXP Crankset
The SRAM Apex 1 is a 10/11-speed single-ring crankset on the SRAM/Truvativ GXP spindle interface, supplied with a 42T X-SYNC chainring. SRAM positions it as an affordable way to get the features that made its 1x road cranks popular: X-SYNC chain control and generous tire and frame clearance.
It's offered in 165, 170, 172.5 and 175mm arm lengths, all with the 42T ring. The integrated 4-arm asymmetric spider uses 110 BCD, so you can change ring size later. The bottom bracket is not included.
Who It's For
- Cyclocross, gravel and road riders running SRAM 10- or 11-speed 1x
- Riders on GXP-compatible frames who want a simple 1x crank
- Builders who want a 110 BCD spider for future ring changes
- Consider a different crank if your bike uses a DUB bottom bracket or a 12-speed drivetrain
What to Look For
- Spindle interface: SRAM/Truvativ GXP — needs a GXP bottom bracket (sold separately). It does not fit DUB bottom brackets.
- Ring and BCD: 42T X-SYNC on a 110 SRAM asymmetric 4-arm spider; 10/11-speed.
- Crank length: choose 165, 170, 172.5 or 175mm.
Key Features
Integrated 4-arm asymmetric spider. SRAM says the spider design maximizes stiffness-to-weight. For riders, 110 BCD means a wide choice of replacement 1x rings.
X-SYNC chainring. The included 42T ring uses SRAM's X-SYNC wide-narrow profile to control the chain on a 1x drivetrain without a front derailleur — helpful on rough cyclocross and gravel courses.
GXP spindle. The GXP interface pairs with GXP bottom brackets, which come in versions for many frame shells. Matching the BB to your frame is the key fitment step.
Clearance and Q-factor. SRAM cites above-average tire and frame clearance, and the Q-factor is 149mm.
Four lengths, black. 165 to 175mm in black, with 9/16" pedal threads.
Rider Intent Summary
- Biggest strengths: X-SYNC 1x chain control, a 110 BCD spider for ring changes, and four arm lengths.
- Tradeoffs: GXP only (not DUB), 10/11-speed only, and the bottom bracket is extra.
- What makes it different: It's SRAM's entry-level 1x road and cyclocross crank, with a 110 BCD spider rather than direct-mount rings.
Victory's Take
We'd use the Apex 1 to refresh a GXP-based 10/11-speed cross or gravel bike, and Victory Bicycle Studio will confirm the GXP bottom bracket for your frame.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do you offer free shipping?
We do offer free shipping on non-bike orders over $100. We do not offer free shipping for bicycles unless it is a one time promotion. Generally, bike shipping will cost $150 and that covers just the shipping of the bike with no assembly. If you were to bring that bike to your local mechanic or bike store, you would pay them their assembly fee. If you choose our Professional Assembly option for $200, our service technicians would assemble the bike before shipping and then re-pack the bike safely for transit. When you receive the bike you would attach the front wheel, attach the seatpost/saddle, and raise the handlebars and clamp them. Those three items do have to be detached to minimize or eliminate the chance of damage in transit.
How much does shipping cost?
For orders of parts, accessories, apparel, etc. on orders under $100, shipping is a flat rate of $9.99. Regular bike shipping without assembly is $150, bike shipping with Professional Assembly is an additional $200 (so $350 in total which includes the $150 of regular shipping). Our White Glove Delivery option is $699 and that will cover the assembly of the bike and our White Glove Delivery partner delivering your dream bike to your front door, ready to ride!
How can I track my order?
When you place your online order, you will receive an instantaneous email update with your order number and order details, and shortly after, you will receive a follow up order email with the tracking number for your order.
