About The Trek Madone SLR Gen 6 BB90 Rim Frameset
The Trek Madone SLR Gen 6 BB90 Rim Frameset is an older-generation aero road platform built from 700 Series OCLV Carbon with adjustable top tube IsoSpeed comfort technology and KVF (Kammtail Virtual Foil) tube shapes. This is a rim brake, quick-release frameset — an important distinction for builders who need to plan their component selection carefully for this older standard. For riders who want the aerodynamic performance and IsoSpeed compliance of the Madone SLR at a significant discount, the Gen 6 remains a capable and elegant race platform.
The adjustable top tube IsoSpeed allows riders to tune compliance to their preference, and it's elastomer-damped for controlled rebound rather than harsh or unpredictable flex. The Madone KVF fork with invisible cable routing is included. The frame uses Trek BB90 as its bottom bracket standard and direct mount rim brakes — both front and rear are not included in the frameset. A micro-adjust seat mast system (seatpost not included) handles fit at the rear.
Who It's For
- Experienced road builders who want 700 Series OCLV aero performance at a reduced price on older standards
- Riders who are comfortable with rim brakes and QR axles, or have existing component libraries built around these standards
- Builders who want adjustable IsoSpeed compliance as part of their build
- Not ideal for: riders who need disc brakes or thru-axle standards, beginners unfamiliar with BB90 compatibility, those wanting current-generation components
What to Look For
- BB standard: Trek BB90 press-fit — proprietary Trek standard; requires specific bearings and cranksets; confirm compatibility before speccing
- Axle standard: 130x5mm quick-release rear — requires QR-compatible wheels
- Brake standard: Direct mount rim brakes — not included; must be sourced separately
- Seatpost: Micro-adjust seat mast — not included; must be sourced separately in the correct length and offset
Key Features
Frame — 700 Series OCLV Carbon, KVF Tube Shapes: Kammtail Virtual Foil aero tube shapes. Adjustable top tube IsoSpeed with elastomer damping for tunable compliance. Invisible cable routing throughout for a fully integrated cockpit.
Fork — Madone KVF Full Carbon: Included. Tapered carbon steerer, invisible cable routing, carbon dropouts, 5x100mm QR. KVF aero shaping matched to the frame.
Compatibility — BB90 / 130x5mm QR / Direct Mount Rim Brake: Trek BB90, 130x5mm quick-release, direct mount rim brakes. FD requires full-housing stop (e.g., Shimano toggle front derailleurs). Precision water bottle placement and DuoTrap S speed/cadence compatible.
Routing & Mounts: Invisible cable routing from cockpit to derailleur and brake. Control center stem integration. 3S aero chain keeper. Micro-adjust seat mast system.
Rider Intent Summary
- Biggest strengths: 700 Series OCLV aero performance, adjustable top tube IsoSpeed, KVF tube shapes, fully integrated invisible routing, carbon fork included
- Tradeoffs: Older generation standards (BB90, QR, rim brake) require careful component planning; brakes and seatpost not included; front derailleur requires specific housing type
- What makes it different: The adjustable top tube IsoSpeed is a feature not available on most aero frames — it lets riders dial in compliance rather than accepting a fixed amount of flex
Victory's Take
At Victory Bicycle Studio, the Madone SLR Gen 6 is a legitimate aero race frame that rewards builders who understand its standards — if you're working from an existing component library or want the 700 Series OCLV performance at a reduced price, this is worth discussing with us before committing.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do you offer free shipping?
We do offer free shipping on non-bike orders over $100. We do not offer free shipping for bicycles unless it is a one time promotion. Generally, bike shipping will cost $150 and that covers just the shipping of the bike with no assembly. If you were to bring that bike to your local mechanic or bike store, you would pay them their assembly fee. If you choose our Professional Assembly option for $200, our service technicians would assemble the bike before shipping and then re-pack the bike safely for transit. When you receive the bike you would attach the front wheel, attach the seatpost/saddle, and raise the handlebars and clamp them. Those three items do have to be detached to minimize or eliminate the chance of damage in transit.
How much does shipping cost?
For orders of parts, accessories, apparel, etc. on orders under $100, shipping is a flat rate of $9.99. Regular bike shipping without assembly is $150, bike shipping with Professional Assembly is an additional $200 (so $350 in total which includes the $150 of regular shipping). Our White Glove Delivery option is $699 and that will cover the assembly of the bike and our White Glove Delivery partner delivering your dream bike to your front door, ready to ride!
How can I track my order?
When you place your online order, you will receive an instantaneous email update with your order number and order details, and shortly after, you will receive a follow up order email with the tracking number for your order. If you still need assistance with your order, feel free to email us at online@victorybicyclestudio.com and we will respond asap.
