About The Trek Quantum Women's Fitness Bike Short
The Trek Quantum Women's Fitness Bike Shorts are built for riders who want a single short that handles structured fitness rides and casual everyday use without compromise. The semi-fitted cut follows the body's natural contours while leaving room for movement, and the two-way stretch shell (86% Recycled Polyester / 14% Spandex) moves with your pedal stroke rather than against it. Rated for use between 60°F and 95°F, these shorts cover the widest range of conditions you're likely to ride in throughout the season.
What sets the Quantum apart within Trek's apparel lineup is its combination of a removable chamois and a woven, antimicrobial shell — giving you the option to wear the outer short alone off the bike or pair it with the liner when you need ride-specific protection. The shell is made from recycled materials equivalent to 15 PET plastic water bottles, a meaningful material choice that doesn't come at the expense of performance or durability.
Who It's For
- Fitness cyclists and recreational riders who want one short versatile enough for the bike and everyday wear
- Riders logging moderate-duration rides in warmer conditions (60°F–95°F) who prioritize breathability
- Women who prefer a semi-fitted silhouette over a form-fitting race cut
- Riders who want a secure storage option on the bike (zippered side pocket)
- Not the best fit for: endurance or multi-hour road cyclists who need a more aggressive, padded bib short
What to Look For
- Chamois type and removability: The Quantum uses a removable chamois — right for fitness and casual riding, but not designed for the demands of long-distance road or gravel events
- Fit profile: The semi-fitted cut suits riders who want comfort and coverage; those preferring a race-close or relaxed fit should evaluate accordingly
- Temperature range: Designed for warm-weather riding (60°F–95°F); not suited for cool-weather or shoulder-season use without base layers
Key Features
Shell Construction. The outer short is woven from an 86% Recycled Polyester / 14% Spandex blend that stretches in two directions. This construction resists abrasion better than knit alternatives while still allowing full range of motion through the hips and thighs. The vented leg opening reduces restriction at the bottom of the pedal stroke.
Removable Chamois. The liner features a lightweight, moisture-wicking chamois with panel-specific construction: 74% Recycled Nylon / 26% Spandex on the front and back panels, and 77% Recycled Nylon / 23% Spandex on the side panels. Removing the chamois makes the outer short fully wearable off the bike.
Waistband and Fit Adjustment. A wide waistband with a bungee drawcord lets you dial in fit on the fly — useful for riders whose sizing falls between standard cuts or who want to adjust during longer efforts.
Storage. A zippered side pocket provides secure storage for a key, card, or nutrition without shifting or bouncing while riding.
Antimicrobial Treatment. The shell fabric includes an antimicrobial finish that manages odor through multi-day or high-output rides.
Rider Intent Summary
- Biggest strengths: Versatile semi-fitted design, removable chamois, wide temperature range, recycled material construction
- Tradeoffs: Chamois padding is designed for fitness riding, not long-distance endurance; not suited for cold-weather riding
- What makes it different: The removable chamois and antimicrobial woven shell make this functional on and off the bike — a practical choice for riders who don't want a dedicated cycling-only garment
Victory's Take
At Victory Bicycle Studio, we recommend the Quantum for fitness and recreational riders who want quality construction without overpaying for race-oriented features they won't use. The removable chamois and everyday-ready cut make it one of the more genuinely versatile options in Trek's women's apparel line.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do you offer free shipping?
We do offer free shipping on non-bike orders over $100. We do not offer free shipping for bicycles unless it is a one time promotion. Generally, bike shipping will cost $150 and that covers just the shipping of the bike with no assembly. If you were to bring that bike to your local mechanic or bike store, you would pay them their assembly fee. If you choose our Professional Assembly option for $200, our service technicians would assemble the bike before shipping and then re-pack the bike safely for transit. When you receive the bike you would attach the front wheel, attach the seatpost/saddle, and raise the handlebars and clamp them. Those three items do have to be detached to minimize or eliminate the chance of damage in transit.
How much does shipping cost?
For orders of parts, accessories, apparel, etc. on orders under $100, shipping is a flat rate of $9.99. Regular bike shipping without assembly is $150, bike shipping with Professional Assembly is an additional $200 (so $350 in total which includes the $150 of regular shipping). Our White Glove Delivery option is $699 and that will cover the assembly of the bike and our White Glove Delivery partner delivering your dream bike to your front door, ready to ride!
How can I track my order?
When you place your online order, you will receive an instantaneous email update with your order number and order details, and shortly after, you will receive a follow up order email with the tracking number for your order. If you still need assistance with your order, feel free to email us at online@victorybicyclestudio.com and we will respond asap.
