About The Ventum Tempus Carbon Triathlon Bike Frameset

The Ventum Tempus Carbon Triathlon Bike Frameset is Ventum's current flagship platform for time trial and triathlon racing, sold as a frameset rather than a complete build. Full carbon fiber construction uses airfoil-shaped tubes running head tube to tail to manage airflow over rider and bike, with wide-set fork legs and seat stays that route turbulent air around the wheels. Ventum benchmarked the Tempus against its predecessor, the Ventum One Disc, and reports it tests up to 15 watts faster in certain conditions.

Because this is a frameset, you supply your own groupset, wheelset, and brake calipers — the kit includes the frame, fork, seatpost and post assembly, headset, UDH derailleur hanger, and a Profile Design Wing Ultimate S base bar with 52 ASC aerobar extensions. The frame combines a steep seat tube angle, placing the rider forward and on top of the pedals, with a stiffened front end for more precise cornering. Internal cable and brake routing, a T47 threaded bottom bracket, and flat mount disc brakes front and rear round out a frame built for riders assembling a race bike to their own spec.

Who It's For

Triathletes and TT racers building a race bike from the frame up who want to choose their own groupset, wheels, and brakes.

Racers who want a frame built for the aero position TT and triathlon events reward, not a multi-purpose road bike.

Riders working with a shop, or comfortable building it themselves, since drivetrain, brakes, and wheels aren't included.

Not the right fit for someone who wants a complete, ride-away bike out of the box.

What to Look For

Know what's in the box: frame, fork, seatpost, headset, UDH hanger, base bar, and extensions. Groupset, wheels, brake calipers/rotors, and a computer mount are separate.

Get fit before you buy. The steep seat tube angle is built for a specific aero posture, so size and stack should come from a TT/triathlon fit, not a road bike size.

Match components to the frame's standards: T47 bottom bracket, flat mount disc brakes only, and max tire clearance of 700x30c.

Key Features

The frame and fork share Ventum's tapered, airfoil-profiled construction, with a tapered carbon steerer and carbon dropouts on the fork and internal cable and brake routing throughout. Flat mount disc brakes are the only option, front and rear, and a UDH derailleur hanger keeps the frame compatible with current crank and derailleur options once you spec a groupset.

Tire clearance tops out at 700x30c, enough for riders who want extra cushion on rougher race courses without working against the frame's aero intent.

The Tempus is shaped around continuous airfoils from the head tube back, with wide-set fork legs and seat stays meant to clean up airflow around the wheels — refined through CFD analysis and wind tunnel testing, and benchmarked at up to 15 watts faster than the outgoing Ventum One Disc. The steep seat tube angle and stiffened front end target real-world handling — cornering and crosswind stability — alongside the aero numbers.

The cockpit pairs the Profile Design Wing Ultimate S base bar and 52 ASC extensions with a Profile Design A3A riser kit (30mm of stack) and a Ventum carbon seatpost with 0° offset. A computer mount is not included.

Rider Intent Summary

Biggest strengths: Aero-focused carbon construction backed by CFD and wind tunnel testing, plus handling built for corners and crosswinds, not just straight-line speed.

Tradeoffs: Frameset only — groupset, wheels, brakes, and a computer mount cost extra, and the build takes a shop or real mechanical skill.

What makes it different: Ventum's own testing puts it up to 15 watts faster than its predecessor, the Ventum One Disc, with the cockpit already specced — Wing Ultimate S base bar, 52 ASC extensions, and A3A risers.

Victory's Take

At Victory Bicycle Studio, we see the Tempus frameset as the right call for a triathlete or TT racer who already knows how they want their bike built. Bring it in for a professional fit before finalizing your position, and we'll help you spec the rest of the build around it.

features

  • Wide is the New Narrow

Jutting far outboard of the frame, Tempus' wide-set fork and equally wide seat stays are designed for one purpose: To create clean air.

Wide fork channels clean air past the front wheel and onto rider's legs, avoiding turbulence caused by wheel and creating a shrouding effect over one of the most aerodynamically problematic body parts.

Just behind legs, airfoils on the wide seat stays not only direct air from the back of legs over and around wheel, but also help shroud the rear wheel at higher yaw angles.

  • Fast Should Feel Fast

Aerodynamic optimization can only take you so far. A fast bike is a balance between aerodynamics, handling, and functional design.

An aggressively steep seat tube angle and strategic stiffening of front end means Tempus feels as fast as it looks on paper. It's also wickedly light, which helps make the bike feel more lively and responsive.

Feedback from our pros says we nailed it: They've raved about the Tempus' nimble yet stable handling.

  • An Ultra-Adjustable Front End

Ventum partnered with Profile Design to engineer Tempus in tandem with their all-new Wing Ultimate S base bar.

Uncomplicated, incredibly aero, and extensively adjustable, Profile Design cockpit systems gives riders and bike fitters the power to precisely dial in the front end position.

Equipped with 52 ASC aerobar extension, riders also have option to upgrade cockpit to semi-custom ASC Pro extensions.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you offer free shipping?

We do offer free shipping on non-bike orders over $100. We do not offer free shipping for bicycles unless it is a one time promotion. Generally, bike shipping will cost $150 and that covers just the shipping of the bike with no assembly. If you were to bring that bike to your local mechanic or bike store, you would pay them their assembly fee. If you choose our Professional Assembly option for $200, our service technicians would assemble the bike before shipping and then re-pack the bike safely for transit. When you receive the bike you would attach the front wheel, attach the seatpost/saddle, and raise the handlebars and clamp them. Those three items do have to be detached to minimize or eliminate the chance of damage in transit.

How much does shipping cost?

For orders of parts, accessories, apparel, etc. on orders under $100, shipping is a flat rate of $9.99. Regular bike shipping without assembly is $150, bike shipping with Professional Assembly is an additional $200 (so $350 in total which includes the $150 of regular shipping). Our White Glove Delivery option is $699 and that will cover the assembly of the bike and our White Glove Delivery partner delivering your dream bike to your front door, ready to ride!

How can I track my order?

When you place your online order, you will receive an instantaneous email update with your order number and order details, and shortly after, you will receive a follow up order email with the tracking number for your order.  If you still need assistance with your order, feel free to email us at online@victorybicyclestudio.com and we will respond asap.
