About The Colnago Y1Rs Road Bike Disc Frameset

The Colnago Y1Rs Disc Frameset is Colnago's dedicated aero road race platform, built for sprinters, breakaway riders, and anyone racing fast events where drag is the main cost. Colnago reports that the Y1Rs needs 20 fewer watts than the V4Rs to hold 50 km/h (about 31 mph), with 19% less frontal area than the V4Rs and a frame 3.5% stiffer than its predecessor.

This is a frameset, not a complete bike: frame, bayonet disc fork, headset, CC.Y1 integrated handlebar and stem, and Y1Rs aero seatpost. That makes it a starting point for a custom race build around your groupset, wheels, and position, and with a one-piece cockpit, the fit decisions need to be made before the build, not after.

Who It's For

  • Road racers focused on sprint finishes, breakaways, and fast group racing where aerodynamics decide results
  • Riders who want to spec their own electronic groupset and wheels rather than buy a stock build
  • Riders with a settled position who can commit to a fixed integrated cockpit
  • Consider a different frame if you are over the 110 kg system weight limit, need a size smaller than Medium, or mostly ride long climbs where weight matters more than drag

What to Look For

  • Size and cockpit come first. The Y1Rs is offered in M, L, and XL only, and the CC.Y1 bar and stem are one piece. Bar width and stem length should be confirmed through a fit before ordering.
  • Maximum system weight is 110 kg (approximately 242 lb), including rider, bike, and gear.
  • Plan the build as a whole. Groupset, wheels, and tires determine the final weight and cost. The Y1Rs is designed around fully integrated routing for modern electronic groupsets.

Key Features

Aero frame shaping. The Y1Rs reduces frontal area by 19% versus the V4Rs. A sculpted, curved downtube works with the integrated cockpit to manage airflow across a range of wind angles, not just a straight headwind, which is closer to how wind actually hits a rider on the road.

CC.Y1 handlebar with WYND Technology. The "gull-wing" bar shape is designed to limit airflow separation and improve stability at speed while staying stiff under out-of-the-saddle sprinting. It is the most visible detail of the bike and the one that most affects fit.

Stiffness. The frame is 3.5% stiffer than its predecessor, aimed at direct power transfer and precise handling in hard efforts.

DEFY seatpost joint. A dual Y-shaped junction at the seat cluster improves aerodynamics and absorbs road vibration, which matters in long breakaways and late-race efforts when fatigue sets in.

Integration and headset. Cable routing is integrated through the bayonet fork and cockpit, and the headset uses CeramicSpeed SLT-treated bearings.

Rider Intent Summary

  • Biggest strengths: Colnago-reported aero gain over the V4Rs, higher stiffness, and a clean, fully integrated race build
  • Tradeoffs: One-piece cockpit limits post-purchase adjustment; three sizes only; 110 kg system limit
  • What makes it different: The gull-wing CC.Y1 bar and the DEFY dual-Y seat junction

Victory's Take

We see the Y1Rs as a frame for riders who race fast and know their position. At Victory Bicycle Studio, we fit the rider, size the cockpit, and build each Y1Rs to its owner's spec before it leaves the studio.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you offer free shipping?

We do offer free shipping on non-bike orders over $100. We do not offer free shipping for bicycles unless it is a one time promotion. Generally, bike shipping will cost $150 and that covers just the shipping of the bike with no assembly. If you were to bring that bike to your local mechanic or bike store, you would pay them their assembly fee. If you choose our Professional Assembly option for $200, our service technicians would assemble the bike before shipping and then re-pack the bike safely for transit. When you receive the bike you would attach the front wheel, attach the seatpost/saddle, and raise the handlebars and clamp them. Those three items do have to be detached to minimize or eliminate the chance of damage in transit.

How much does shipping cost?

For orders of parts, accessories, apparel, etc. on orders under $100, shipping is a flat rate of $9.99. Regular bike shipping without assembly is $150, bike shipping with Professional Assembly is an additional $200 (so $350 in total which includes the $150 of regular shipping). Our White Glove Delivery option is $699 and that will cover the assembly of the bike and our White Glove Delivery partner delivering your dream bike to your front door, ready to ride!

How can I track my order?

When you place your online order, you will receive an instantaneous email update with your order number and order details, and shortly after, you will receive a follow up order email with the tracking number for your order.  If you still need assistance with your order, feel free to email us at online@victorybicyclestudio.com and we will respond asap.
