About The Enve Fray Carbon Road Bike Frameset
The ENVE Fray Carbon Road Bike Frameset is an all-road and endurance frameset made from ENVE M.O.D carbon. It's built for riders whose routes mix smooth pavement, rough back roads and gravel connectors. ENVE optimized the geometry around 31–35mm tires. Tire clearance goes up to 700 x 40mm with a 1x drivetrain or 700 x 38mm with a 2x. That puts it between a traditional road frame and a dedicated gravel bike, and makes it suited to sportifs, fondos and long mixed-surface rides.
In the all-road category, the Fray stands out by pairing that clearance with Real-World Fast™ aero tube shapes designed to work with ENVE SES rims. It also has ENVE Cargo Bay storage inside the down tube, three bottle mounts, top tube mounts and fender compatibility. The claimed frame weight is 900g (size 56, painted, no hardware). This is a frameset only: wheels, seatpost, stem, handlebars and groupset are not included.
Who It's For
-
Endurance and fondo riders who want an aero carbon road frame that runs wider tires
-
All-road riders who link pavement with dirt, farm roads and broken tarmac
-
Riders building a custom bike around their own wheels, drivetrain and cockpit
-
Riders who want fender mounts for wet-season riding
-
Consider a different bike if you ride tires wider than 40mm or prefer tires narrower than the Fray's 27mm minimum
What to Look For
- Choose your drivetrain and tire size together. A 1x setup clears 40mm tires; a 2x setup clears 38mm. Decide on gearing before you commit to tires.
- Plan the build around the frame's standards. The Fray needs the ENVE Aero seatpost. It uses a T47 inboard-bearing threaded bottom bracket, an integrated IS52/IS52 drop-in headset and internal routing, so check that your crankset, stem and handlebar are compatible.
- Get fitted before choosing a size. Seven sizes run from 47 to 60cm, and fork rake changes across the range. A professional fit is the most reliable way to pick your size.
Key Features
Frame and fork: Both the frame and fork are ENVE M.O.D carbon, with internal routing and fender compatibility. ENVE sets fork rake by size: 55mm for the 47 and 50, 51mm for the 52 and 54, 47mm for the 56 and 58, and 43mm for the 60.
Drivetrain compatibility: The frame is Universal Derailleur Hanger (UDH) compatible, which widens your drivetrain choices. The threaded T47 bottom bracket takes inboard bearings, and the frame accepts both 1x and 2x setups.
Braking: Flat mount disc brakes mount to 12x100mm front and 12x142mm rear thru-axles. These are current road disc standards, so they work with a wide range of wheels and calipers.
Wheels and tires: The frame fits 700c wheels, with a 27mm minimum tire and 31–35mm as the optimal range. The aero tube shapes are designed to complement ENVE SES rim profiles, which makes SES wheels a natural pairing.
Storage and mounts: ENVE Cargo Bay uses unused down tube space for rattle-free storage of tools and essentials. Two storage bags are included. There are also three bottle mounts and a top tube mount for bags on long days.
Rider Intent Summary
-
Biggest strengths: Up to 40mm tire clearance, aero tube shapes, 900g claimed frame weight, in-frame storage
-
Tradeoffs: You need the ENVE Aero seatpost and have to buy all components separately; tire clearance drops to 38mm with a 2x drivetrain
-
What makes it different: It combines ENVE Cargo Bay storage, size-specific fork rake and SES-matched aero shaping on an all-road frame
Victory's Take
At Victory Bicycle Studio, we see the ENVE Fray as a frameset for riders who want a fast road bike that won't turn them back when the pavement ends. It's worth building carefully around a proper fit.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do you offer free shipping?
We do offer free shipping on non-bike orders over $100. We do not offer free shipping for bicycles unless it is a one time promotion. Generally, bike shipping will cost $150 and that covers just the shipping of the bike with no assembly. If you were to bring that bike to your local mechanic or bike store, you would pay them their assembly fee. If you choose our Professional Assembly option for $200, our service technicians would assemble the bike before shipping and then re-pack the bike safely for transit. When you receive the bike you would attach the front wheel, attach the seatpost/saddle, and raise the handlebars and clamp them. Those three items do have to be detached to minimize or eliminate the chance of damage in transit.
How much does shipping cost?
For orders of parts, accessories, apparel, etc. on orders under $100, shipping is a flat rate of $9.99. Regular bike shipping without assembly is $150, bike shipping with Professional Assembly is an additional $200 (so $350 in total which includes the $150 of regular shipping). Our White Glove Delivery option is $699 and that will cover the assembly of the bike and our White Glove Delivery partner delivering your dream bike to your front door, ready to ride!
How can I track my order?
When you place your online order, you will receive an instantaneous email update with your order number and order details, and shortly after, you will receive a follow up order email with the tracking number for your order. If you still need assistance with your order, feel free to email us at online@victorybicyclestudio.com and we will respond asap.
