About The ENVE G SES 4.5 Front Gravel Bike Wheel
The ENVE G SES 4.5 Front Gravel Bike Wheel is built for gravel riders who want aerodynamic efficiency without giving up climbing feel or handling precision. With a 49mm front rim depth and 30mm internal width, the rim is shaped specifically around the wider, higher-volume tires that modern gravel racing now demands — tire sizes that create real aerodynamic opportunity once the rim profile is matched to them.
At the core of the wheel is ENVE's Premium INNERDRIVE hub, a straight-pull design with an oversized 42mm ratchet drive positioned inboard, over the bearings. That placement reduces stress on the axle and bearings for more reliable engagement and longer bearing life. Paired with a Wide Hookless Bead carried over from ENVE's M Series mountain wheel line, this wheel adds impact resistance and pinch-flat protection not typically found on an aero-focused gravel wheel.
Who It's For
• Gravel racers and fast group-ride riders who want aerodynamic gains at higher speeds without stepping up to a heavier, deeper aero wheel
• Riders running wider, higher-volume gravel tires who want a rim width matched to that tire for clean airflow
• Riders who value low weight and nimble handling over maximum aero depth — for a deeper aero profile, ENVE's G SES 6.7 is the category alternative
• Not a fit for riders needing rim-brake or non-Centerlock disc compatibility, since this wheel is disc-only with a Centerlock interface
What to Look For
• Confirm axle and rotor compatibility: this front wheel uses 12x100mm thru-axle spacing and a Centerlock brake interface — lockrings are not included and must be purchased separately
• Check tire compatibility: the hookless rim design requires tires rated for hookless rims and a correct tubeless setup
• Match rim depth to your riding priorities: the 49mm front depth favors gravel racing and stability over an ultra-light, all-around touring build
Key Features
Rim and aerodynamics: the 30mm internal width and 49mm front depth are sized around today's wider gravel tires. As gravel tire widths have grown for comfort and flat protection, the rim widened to keep airflow clean across the sidewall — the source of real-world aero gains at the tire sizes gravel riders actually run.
Hub: the Premium INNERDRIVE hub uses a 100% ENVE-designed 42mm ratchet drive with automatic preload adjustment, so there's no manual bearing preload to set or maintain. The front hub weighs 109 grams on its own, part of a 326-gram front-and-rear hubset, and is built for low maintenance and easy field servicing.
Spoke build: the wheel is laced with Sapim CX-Ray spokes, Alpina Nylock brass internal nipples, and built to 120kgf spoke tension — a spec aimed at durability and tension retention rather than the lowest possible static weight.
Brake compatibility: braking runs through a Centerlock disc interface; lockrings are sold separately, so factor that into your build cost if you don't already have one.
Rider Intent Summary
• Biggest strength: rim width and depth tuned to modern high-volume gravel tires, delivering aero benefit at the tire sizes riders actually use
• Tradeoff: the 49mm front depth favors speed and stability over the lowest possible wheel weight — riders chasing minimum weight should compare against ENVE's shallower gravel options
• What makes it different: the Wide Hookless Bead borrows impact protection from ENVE's mountain wheel line, a durability feature uncommon on an aero-focused gravel wheel

Frequently Asked Questions
Do you offer free shipping?
We do offer free shipping on non-bike orders over $100. We do not offer free shipping for bicycles unless it is a one time promotion. Generally, bike shipping will cost $150 and that covers just the shipping of the bike with no assembly. If you were to bring that bike to your local mechanic or bike store, you would pay them their assembly fee. If you choose our Professional Assembly option for $200, our service technicians would assemble the bike before shipping and then re-pack the bike safely for transit. When you receive the bike you would attach the front wheel, attach the seatpost/saddle, and raise the handlebars and clamp them. Those three items do have to be detached to minimize or eliminate the chance of damage in transit.
How much does shipping cost?
For orders of parts, accessories, apparel, etc. on orders under $100, shipping is a flat rate of $9.99. Regular bike shipping without assembly is $150, bike shipping with Professional Assembly is an additional $200 (so $350 in total which includes the $150 of regular shipping). Our White Glove Delivery option is $699 and that will cover the assembly of the bike and our White Glove Delivery partner delivering your dream bike to your front door, ready to ride!
How can I track my order?
When you place your online order, you will receive an instantaneous email update with your order number and order details, and shortly after, you will receive a follow up order email with the tracking number for your order. If you still need assistance with your order, feel free to email us at online@victorybicyclestudio.com and we will respond asap.
