About The ENVE G SES 4.5 Pro Front Gravel Bike Wheel
The Enve G SES 4.5 Pro front wheel is built for gravel riders who want aero performance without giving up the wide-tire capability modern gravel racing demands. This is the front-specific 49mm depth wheel from Enve's aero-gravel line, paired with a 30mm internal rim width designed around today's larger-volume tubeless tires. It's a wheel for riders chasing speed on mixed and varied terrain, not a general-purpose training wheel.
What sets this wheel apart is the combination of a carbon G SES 4.5 rim with Enve's Pro Innerdrive hub, engineered specifically to cut weight without sacrificing durability. At 685 grams for the front wheel alone, it's notably light for a 49mm-deep aero rim. The hub carries over the spoke alignment feature from Enve's Premium Straight-Pull hubs, which reduces spoke twisting during build and use, and pairs a 12mm thru-axle with a center lock disc interface for the front hub.
Who It's For
-
Gravel racers and fast-paced gravel riders looking to upgrade to an aero-oriented wheel for varied terrain
-
Riders running wide tubeless tires (rim is built for a 28–34.9mm tire width range)
-
Riders prioritizing low rotational weight alongside aero benefit
-
Not for riders needing rim brakes, or those running narrower tires better suited to a shallower, narrower rim
What to Look For
-
Confirm your tire width falls within the rim's 28–34.9mm compatible range before buying
-
Check hub compatibility: this wheel uses 100mm front spacing, a 12mm thru-axle, and a center lock rotor mount
-
This listing is the front wheel only — the matched rear in this line runs a 55mm depth, so plan your rear wheel purchase separately if you're building a full set
Key Features
Rim construction: The G SES 4.5 carbon rim runs a 49mm depth with a 37.6mm external and 30mm internal width, tuned for the wider tubeless tires now common in gravel racing. The wider internal width supports tire stability and volume at speed on rough surfaces.
Hub technology: The Pro Innerdrive hub uses an ultralight shell, a 40-tooth ratchet with a light-action spring for reduced drag, and Enve Pro ceramic bearings. Enve reports roughly 60 grams of savings over the Premium Innerdrive hub, with this front hub weighing 87 grams on its own.
Build quality: Silver Alpina Ultralite spokes on a 24-hole drilling pattern keep the build light while the spoke alignment feature helps limit spoke twist during initial build and ongoing use — a detail specific to Enve's Innerdrive hub design.
Compatibility: Tubeless-ready, Presta valve, 700C/622 diameter, 12mm thru-axle, and center lock disc mount — standard modern gravel hardware, so compatibility checks come down to spacing and rotor mount type.
Rider Intent Summary
- Biggest strength: Low weight (685g) combined with a 49mm aero rim depth and wide 30mm internal width for tubeless setups
- Tradeoff: Disc-only, thru-axle only — not an option for rim-brake or quick-release setups, and it's sold as a front wheel only
- What makes it different: The Pro Innerdrive hub's spoke alignment feature and ceramic bearings, carried over from Enve's raced Premium Straight-Pull hubs, in a lighter build
Victory's Take
At Victory Bicycle Studio, we see this as a strong pick for a rider who already knows their tire width and wants a lighter, faster-rolling front wheel without stepping down in rim depth or width. If you're building a matched wheelset, plan for the deeper 55mm rear alongside it.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do you offer free shipping?
We do offer free shipping on non-bike orders over $100. We do not offer free shipping for bicycles unless it is a one time promotion. Generally, bike shipping will cost $150 and that covers just the shipping of the bike with no assembly. If you were to bring that bike to your local mechanic or bike store, you would pay them their assembly fee. If you choose our Professional Assembly option for $200, our service technicians would assemble the bike before shipping and then re-pack the bike safely for transit. When you receive the bike you would attach the front wheel, attach the seatpost/saddle, and raise the handlebars and clamp them. Those three items do have to be detached to minimize or eliminate the chance of damage in transit.
How much does shipping cost?
For orders of parts, accessories, apparel, etc. on orders under $100, shipping is a flat rate of $9.99. Regular bike shipping without assembly is $150, bike shipping with Professional Assembly is an additional $200 (so $350 in total which includes the $150 of regular shipping). Our White Glove Delivery option is $699 and that will cover the assembly of the bike and our White Glove Delivery partner delivering your dream bike to your front door, ready to ride!
How can I track my order?
When you place your online order, you will receive an instantaneous email update with your order number and order details, and shortly after, you will receive a follow up order email with the tracking number for your order. If you still need assistance with your order, feel free to email us at online@victorybicyclestudio.com and we will respond asap.
