About The Garmin Rally XC200 Shimano SPD Dual Sensing Power Meter Pedals

The Garmin Rally XC200 Shimano SPD Dual Sensing Power Meter Pedals are Garmin’s off-road power meter. They pack independent left and right power measurement into a familiar SPD-compatible pedal that weighs 448 grams per pair, with a claimed ±1% accuracy. They’re built for riders who want real training data on mountain bike, gravel, and cyclocross rides: structured trail intervals, gravel racing, winter cross seasons, and riders who split their time across more than one bike.

What separates the XC200 from most power meters is where it measures and how easily it moves. The sensors sit inside the spindle, so there’s no crank-specific fitment and no special installation. The pedals thread on like any other pedal and swap between bikes in minutes. Because both pedals measure independently, you get true left/right balance rather than a single-leg estimate doubled. An IPX7 water rating, temperature compensation, and field calibration help keep the numbers trustworthy through mud, water crossings, and changing conditions.

Who It’s For

  • Mountain bike, gravel, and cyclocross riders who train or race with power
  • Riders with more than one bike who want a single power meter that moves between them
  • Athletes who want true dual-sided data, including left/right balance and pedal stroke analysis
  • Riders already using Shimano SPD cleats, or ready to switch to them
  • Consider a different power meter if: you ride exclusively on the road with a road cleat system, use flat pedals, or weigh more than 105 kg (231.5 lbs), which is Garmin’s stated maximum rider weight

What to Look For

  • Cleat system: These pedals are compatible with Shimano SPD cleats only. Cleat hardware is included, and the release tension is adjustable.
  • Q-factor: The stock Q-factor is 53 mm, and the included 2 mm washers widen it to 55 mm. If you’re particular about stance width, factor that into your setup.
  • Batteries: Garmin recommends CR1/3N batteries (two total). LR44/SR44 batteries (four total) are also supported. Keep spares on hand for long training blocks.
  • Head unit and apps: The pedals broadcast over ANT+ and Bluetooth. Confirm that your Edge computer, watch, or trainer app supports Cycling Dynamics if you want the advanced metrics.

Key Features

Dual-sided power measurement. Each pedal measures power independently, delivering total power, cadence, and true left/right balance with ±1% accuracy. Temperature compensation and field calibration keep readings consistent from cold early starts to hot afternoon efforts.

Advanced Cycling Dynamics. Beyond watts, the XC200 tracks seated vs. standing time and how effective each position is. It also measures Power Phase, which shows where in the pedal stroke you produce power, and Platform Center Offset, which shows where force lands on the pedal and offers a useful check on cleat position.

Spindle-based, swap-friendly design. The sensors are housed inside the spindle and the pedals install like any standard pedal, so moving them between bikes is quick. The quick-change pedal body features two wrench flats.

Transferable spindle. The power-sensing spindle can be installed in Garmin’s Rally RS and Rally RK road pedal body kits (each sold separately), so one power meter can follow you from trail to road.

Built for off-road conditions. An IPX7 water rating and a 13.5 mm (0.53") stack height make the XC200 ready for wet, muddy, and rough riding.

Long battery life and full connectivity. You get up to 120 hours of riding between battery changes. The pedals pair with Garmin Edge computers and the Garmin Connect app for software updates and data uploads, and they sync with Strava, TrainingPeaks, TrainerRoad, and more.

Rider Intent Summary

  • Biggest strengths: True dual-sided power with ±1% accuracy, easy bike-to-bike transfer, and a full suite of Cycling Dynamics metrics
  • Tradeoffs: SPD cleats only, a 105 kg maximum rider weight, a heavier pair than non-power SPD pedals, and road pedal body kits sold separately
  • What makes it different: Dual-sensing power in a rugged, IPX7-rated SPD pedal whose spindle can move into Garmin’s road pedal bodies

Victory’s Take

At Victory Bicycle Studio, we see the Rally XC200 as the most flexible way to bring serious power data to off-road riding. It’s one of the easiest power meters to live with across multiple bikes, provided you’re committed to SPD cleats. Its Platform Center Offset and balance metrics are a natural companion to a professional bike fit.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you offer free shipping?

We do offer free shipping on non-bike orders over $100. We do not offer free shipping for bicycles unless it is a one time promotion. Generally, bike shipping will cost $150 and that covers just the shipping of the bike with no assembly. If you were to bring that bike to your local mechanic or bike store, you would pay them their assembly fee. If you choose our Professional Assembly option for $200, our service technicians would assemble the bike before shipping and then re-pack the bike safely for transit. When you receive the bike you would attach the front wheel, attach the seatpost/saddle, and raise the handlebars and clamp them. Those three items do have to be detached to minimize or eliminate the chance of damage in transit.

How much does shipping cost?

For orders of parts, accessories, apparel, etc. on orders under $100, shipping is a flat rate of $9.99. Regular bike shipping without assembly is $150, bike shipping with Professional Assembly is an additional $200 (so $350 in total which includes the $150 of regular shipping). Our White Glove Delivery option is $699 and that will cover the assembly of the bike and our White Glove Delivery partner delivering your dream bike to your front door, ready to ride!

How can I track my order?

When you place your online order, you will receive an instantaneous email update with your order number and order details, and shortly after, you will receive a follow up order email with the tracking number for your order.  If you still need assistance with your order, feel free to email us at online@victorybicyclestudio.com and we will respond asap.
