About The Reserve 34/37 Turbulent Aero Carbon Road Bike Wheelset
Reserve 34/37 Turbulent Aero is a carbon climbing wheelset for disc-brake road bikes. It's built for long ascents and mountain passes, where low rim weight matters most, and it stays practical for everyday riding. Compared with the original Reserve 34/37, the Turbulent Aero (TA) revision is 30 grams lighter per rim and 4 grams faster in the wind tunnel. That puts the gains where climbers feel them without giving up aerodynamics on the descent.
What sets it apart among lightweight carbon wheels is how serviceable and unrestricted it is. Reserve uses external nipples and standard spokes, and the semi-hooked rim has no tire limitations. The wheelset also has no rider weight limit. It runs tubeless or with tubes, rolls on DT Swiss hubs, and is covered by a lifetime warranty with no-fault crash replacement. In short, it's a climbing wheelset you can ride hard and maintain easily.
Who It's For
-
Road riders who prioritize climbing performance and want lower rim weight
-
Disc-brake road and gravel-adjacent riders on 12mm thru-axle frames (100mm front, 142mm rear)
-
Riders who want tire freedom, tubeless or tubed, with no tire-compatibility restrictions
-
Heavier riders who've been ruled out by weight limits on other lightweight carbon wheels
-
Riders who value easy trueing and spoke replacement over proprietary parts
-
Consider something else if you ride rim brakes, use quick-release axles, or want a deep-section wheel built mainly for flat-road speed
What to Look For
-
Freehub match: This wheelset is offered with SRAM XDR cassette bodies. Pick the one that matches your drivetrain.
-
Rotor standard: The hubs are Center-Lock disc. Confirm your rotors are Center-Lock or budget for an adapter or new rotors.
-
Tire sizing: With 22mm and 22.8mm internal rim widths, check that your preferred tire size sits well on the rim and clears your frame.
Key Features
Mixed front and rear rim profiles are the core of the design. Reserve gives each wheel its own rim profile to balance stability, weight and aerodynamics. That reflects the different jobs the front and rear wheels do, especially in crosswinds.
Carbon SL rims are the lightweight version of Reserve's rim construction. They account for the 30-gram-per-rim saving over the original 34/37. Rim weight is rotating weight, which is where riders feel a difference on steep gradients and when accelerating out of corners.
Internally reinforced spoke holes add material at the spoke nipple, where the rim takes the most force. Reserve gets added strength there without adding weight across the whole rim.
Semi-hooked, tubeless-ready rims take any tire setup without restrictions. Run tubeless for lower pressures and better puncture resistance, or use tubes with Presta valves if you prefer.
DT Swiss hubs, external nipples and standard spokes make this wheelset practical to own. Any good shop can true it or replace a spoke without waiting on proprietary parts.
Lifetime warranty with no-fault crash replacement covers more than defects, so crash damage is included too.
Rider Intent Summary
-
Biggest strengths: Low rim weight for climbing, no rider weight limit, no tire limitations, lifetime no-fault crash coverage
-
Tradeoffs: Disc brakes and 12mm thru-axles only. It's built around climbing, not maximum flat-road aero gains.
-
What makes it different: A lightweight carbon climbing wheel that uses standard spokes and external nipples instead of proprietary parts
Victory's Take
At Victory Bicycle Studio, we like the Reserve 34/37 TA because it's light where climbers need it and still easy to live with. Standard spokes, open tire compatibility and no weight limit make it a wheelset we're comfortable recommending to a wide range of riders.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do you offer free shipping?
We do offer free shipping on non-bike orders over $100. We do not offer free shipping for bicycles unless it is a one time promotion. Generally, bike shipping will cost $150 and that covers just the shipping of the bike with no assembly. If you were to bring that bike to your local mechanic or bike store, you would pay them their assembly fee. If you choose our Professional Assembly option for $200, our service technicians would assemble the bike before shipping and then re-pack the bike safely for transit. When you receive the bike you would attach the front wheel, attach the seatpost/saddle, and raise the handlebars and clamp them. Those three items do have to be detached to minimize or eliminate the chance of damage in transit.
How much does shipping cost?
For orders of parts, accessories, apparel, etc. on orders under $100, shipping is a flat rate of $9.99. Regular bike shipping without assembly is $150, bike shipping with Professional Assembly is an additional $200 (so $350 in total which includes the $150 of regular shipping). Our White Glove Delivery option is $699 and that will cover the assembly of the bike and our White Glove Delivery partner delivering your dream bike to your front door, ready to ride!
How can I track my order?
When you place your online order, you will receive an instantaneous email update with your order number and order details, and shortly after, you will receive a follow up order email with the tracking number for your order. If you still need assistance with your order, feel free to email us at online@victorybicyclestudio.com and we will respond asap.
