About The Wahoo Speedplay Easy Tension Cycling Cleats
The Wahoo Speedplay Easy Tension Cleats are a walkable road cleat built for the Speedplay pedal system, using an easy action spring mechanism that lowers the effort needed to clip in and out. That reduced engagement force makes them well suited to smaller riders, newer clipless riders, or anyone who wants an easier release feel without losing Speedplay's dual-sided entry and independent float adjustment.
Independent 3-axis adjustability — release angle, float, and fore-aft/left-right cleat position — lets a fitter dial in placement to match a rider's biomechanics rather than accepting a fixed compromise. A dimpled, rubberized outsole and low-profile design add genuine walkability, backed by an included adaptor, so stepping off the bike doesn't mean walking on bare cleat plastic.
Who It's For
• Riders who want an easier, lower-effort clip-in and release, including smaller riders and those new to clipless pedals
• Speedplay riders who need to walk regularly off the bike — commuting, group-ride stops, multi-surface routes
• Riders who need precise control over release angle, float, and cleat position to address fit or biomechanical issues
• Riders on 3-hole or 4-hole road shoes compatible with Speedplay's cleat pattern
• Riders who don't need walkability and want the lowest possible weight and stack height should compare the 3-hole and 4-hole specs closely before choosing
What to Look For
• Hole pattern and stack height: 3-hole cleats weigh 142g at an 11.5mm stack; 4-hole cleats weigh 100g at an 8.5mm stack — confirm which pattern your shoes use
• Adjustment range: release angle 0°–7.5°, float 0°–15°, fore-aft up to 13mm, left-right up to 6mm — enough range for a fitter to correct alignment
• Walkability priority: the dimpled tread and included adaptor cover casual walking — decide if that matches how much time you'll spend off the bike
Key Features
The cleat body combines Grivory GV-6H, TPU, and metal components, pairing a durable structural base with a softer, grippier walking surface — the TPU sections are what let the cleat handle foot traffic without cracking.
The easy action spring mechanism is the cleat's defining feature: it's built to reduce the force required to clip in and release, making the pedal system more approachable for riders who find standard clip-in tension demanding, without changing Speedplay's dual-sided engagement.
Independent 3-axis adjustability covers release angle (0°–7.5°), float (0°–15°), fore-aft position (up to 13mm), and left-right placement (up to 6mm) — enough range for a fitter to correct knee tracking or hip alignment issues rather than working around a fixed cleat.
A dimpled, low-profile, rubberized tread plus an included walkable adaptor let you walk off the bike without the awkward clack of a bare cleat — useful for coffee stops, commuting, or crossing a parking lot.
Rider Intent Summary
• Biggest strength: the easy action spring reduces clip-in and release effort while keeping full Speedplay adjustability and float range
• Tradeoff: weight and stack height depend on hole pattern — 142g/11.5mm (3-hole) versus 100g/8.5mm (4-hole) — so shoe compatibility drives the decision
• What makes it different: walkability and easier engagement combined in one Speedplay cleat, without giving up adjustability
Victory's Take
At Victory Bicycle Studio, we point riders toward the Easy Tension cleats when clip-in effort or walkability off the bike matters as much as fit precision — the adjustability range still gives our fitters plenty to work with.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do you offer free shipping?
We do offer free shipping on non-bike orders over $100. We do not offer free shipping for bicycles unless it is a one time promotion. Generally, bike shipping will cost $150 and that covers just the shipping of the bike with no assembly. If you were to bring that bike to your local mechanic or bike store, you would pay them their assembly fee. If you choose our Professional Assembly option for $200, our service technicians would assemble the bike before shipping and then re-pack the bike safely for transit. When you receive the bike you would attach the front wheel, attach the seatpost/saddle, and raise the handlebars and clamp them. Those three items do have to be detached to minimize or eliminate the chance of damage in transit.
How much does shipping cost?
For orders of parts, accessories, apparel, etc. on orders under $100, shipping is a flat rate of $9.99. Regular bike shipping without assembly is $150, bike shipping with Professional Assembly is an additional $200 (so $350 in total which includes the $150 of regular shipping). Our White Glove Delivery option is $699 and that will cover the assembly of the bike and our White Glove Delivery partner delivering your dream bike to your front door, ready to ride!
How can I track my order?
When you place your online order, you will receive an instantaneous email update with your order number and order details, and shortly after, you will receive a follow up order email with the tracking number for your order.
