Wheels are one of the highest-impact upgrades on any bike: how a bike accelerates, descends, and handles changes noticeably with the right set. The variables are rim depth, rim material, tubeless compatibility, and hub standard for your frame. Deeper rims are faster aerodynamically but more affected by crosswinds; carbon rims save weight and improve compliance but require attention to brake track compatibility. Getting the right wheelset depends on where and how you ride, not just what looks fastest on paper.
