About The Cadex 36 Disc Tubeless Carbon Rear Bicycle Wheel
The CADEX 36 Disc Tubeless Carbon Rear Wheel is a 36mm-deep hookless carbon road wheel built around a 22.4mm internal rim width. It's made for riders who want one rear wheel that can climb, descend and stay steady in crosswinds without being tuned for just one of those jobs. It pairs the CADEX R1-C30 hub with ceramic bearings and 24 aero carbon spokes laced in CADEX's Dynamic Balanced Lacing (DBL) pattern. Tubeless rim tape and valves come in the box.
The carbon spokes are what set it apart from most wheels at this depth, because many wheels in the category use steel. CADEX uses carbon spokes to reduce lateral flex when you accelerate and climb. The 36mm profile is a stability choice: it's shallow enough to stay predictable in shifting winds. The wide internal rim is optimized for 25–32C tubeless tires, giving a rounder tire shape and a larger contact patch for grip and comfort on rough pavement.
Who It's For
-
Road riders who climb and accelerate often and want a carbon rear wheel built around stiffness
-
Riders on exposed or windy routes who value handling stability over deep-section aero
-
Riders running 25–32C tubeless tires on mixed-quality pavement
-
Riders within the 285 lb / 129 kg system weight limit
-
Consider a different wheel if you mainly ride flat, fast terrain where a deeper rim makes more sense, run tires wider than 32C, or have a frame or drivetrain that doesn't match the specs below
What to Look For
-
Frame and drivetrain fit: this wheel uses a 142x12 thru axle, a Centerlock rotor mount and ships with a Shimano 11 freehub body. Check all three against your bike before ordering.
-
Tire selection: the rim is hookless, so pick a tire approved for hookless use within the suggested 25–32C range, and keep pressure within the tire and rim manufacturers' limits.
-
Front wheel pairing: this listing is a rear wheel only. Plan your front wheel so the depth and handling match.
Key Features
Hookless carbon rim. The 22.4mm inner / 26mm outer rim (ETRTO 622-22) uses CADEX's continuous carbon fiber hookless structure. It supports the tire sidewall for cornering and gives a rounder profile than narrower rims. CADEX's precision reinforced layup puts high-tensile fiber only where it's needed for strength and stiffness.
Aero carbon spokes with DBL lacing. The 24 rear spokes are high-tensile CADEX aero carbon with internal alloy nipples. DBL sets the spokes at a wider bracing angle. CADEX says this keeps tension balanced under pedaling load, so more of your effort reaches the road instead of flexing the wheel.
R1-C30 hub and ceramic bearings. The precision-machined R1-C30 hub is designed to reduce bearing load and friction. It uses a ratchet driver, and CADEX rates its ceramic bearings at 1.5x smoother action than steel.
CADEX Tubeless System. Rim tape and valves are included, so the wheel is ready for a tubeless setup out of the box. Tubeless is also how you get the most out of the wide rim: lower pressures, a bigger contact patch and less rider fatigue on long days.
Ownership coverage. The wheel carries a 2-year warranty and a 5-year incident replacement program for the registered original owner.
Rider Intent Summary
-
Biggest strengths: a stiff, efficient rear wheel thanks to the carbon spokes and DBL lacing, a wide tire-friendly rim, and stable handling in crosswinds
-
Tradeoffs: less aero benefit than deeper rims on flat, fast roads; hookless means you have to choose tires carefully; front wheel sold separately
-
What makes it different: carbon spokes and a 22.4mm internal width on a 36mm all-round rim, plus ceramic bearings as standard
Victory's Take
At Victory Bicycle Studio, we see the CADEX 36 as a strong rear-wheel upgrade for riders whose routes include real climbing and unpredictable wind. Before you order, we'll check that your frame, drivetrain and tires match it.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do you offer free shipping?
We do offer free shipping on non-bike orders over $100. We do not offer free shipping for bicycles unless it is a one time promotion. Generally, bike shipping will cost $150 and that covers just the shipping of the bike with no assembly. If you were to bring that bike to your local mechanic or bike store, you would pay them their assembly fee. If you choose our Professional Assembly option for $200, our service technicians would assemble the bike before shipping and then re-pack the bike safely for transit. When you receive the bike you would attach the front wheel, attach the seatpost/saddle, and raise the handlebars and clamp them. Those three items do have to be detached to minimize or eliminate the chance of damage in transit.
How much does shipping cost?
For orders of parts, accessories, apparel, etc. on orders under $100, shipping is a flat rate of $9.99. Regular bike shipping without assembly is $150, bike shipping with Professional Assembly is an additional $200 (so $350 in total which includes the $150 of regular shipping). Our White Glove Delivery option is $699 and that will cover the assembly of the bike and our White Glove Delivery partner delivering your dream bike to your front door, ready to ride!
How can I track my order?
When you place your online order, you will receive an instantaneous email update with your order number and order details, and shortly after, you will receive a follow up order email with the tracking number for your order. If you still need assistance with your order, feel free to email us at online@victorybicyclestudio.com and we will respond asap.
