About The Garmin Tacx Alpine Gradient Simulator Bicycle Trainer

Bring the climb indoors. Feel every grade.

Indoor training has always had one obvious gap: the road tilts, but the bike doesn’t. Garmin Tacx Alpine closes that gap. Mounted under your fork and paired with a compatible Tacx smart trainer, it physically lifts and lowers the front of your bike to match the virtual terrain, from a 25% wall down to a −10% descent. Your body settles into the same position it holds on a real climb, recruiting the same muscles and building the specific strength that carries over to the road.

Key Features

  • Real gradient simulation: Raises and lowers the front of your bike to replicate grades from +25% to −10%, accurate to ±0.1%.

  • Automatic grade changes: Responds in real time to virtual terrain in the Tacx Training app, Zwift, and other popular platforms, or set the grade yourself with the control panel.

  • Interactive steering: A dynamic fork mount lets you steer by turning your handlebars in compatible apps.*

  • Integrated motion base: Smooth, natural movement under you for a ride that feels connected.

  • Quiet, stable platform: Built to stay planted whether you’re seated and grinding or out of the saddle and attacking.

  • Simple setup: Step-by-step installation guidance in the Tacx Training app gets you riding fast.

Ride the Mountain, Not the Spreadsheet

Holding 300 watts on a flat trainer and holding 300 watts on a 10% grade are not the same effort. Your hip angle closes, your weight shifts rearward, and your glutes and lower back take on more of the work. Tacx Alpine puts you in that position, so your climbing sessions train the way you actually climb. Grade changes happen at up to 3% per second, fast enough to track punchy rollers and abrupt switchbacks without lag.

Climb Seated or Stand and Hammer

Alpine is engineered for stability first. Whether you’re spinning steadily up a long alpine pass or standing to sprint over a short kicker, the platform stays composed. On descents, the front drops to as much as −10%, shifting your weight forward the way it would on a real downhill and adding a welcome dose of realism to the recovery between efforts.

Steer Your Ride

The dynamic fork mount rotates with your handlebars, translating real steering input into the virtual world in compatible apps. Choose your line through a corner, move around a group ride, or simply enjoy a more engaging, less static session.*

Train Your Way

Alpine integrates seamlessly with the Tacx Training app, Zwift, and other popular platforms over ANT+ and Bluetooth. Let the virtual course control the grade automatically, or take manual control from the control panel to dial in a specific gradient for targeted climbing intervals. An included voucher unlocks Tacx Training app Premium HD.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you offer free shipping?

We do offer free shipping on non-bike orders over $100. We do not offer free shipping for bicycles unless it is a one time promotion. Generally, bike shipping will cost $150 and that covers just the shipping of the bike with no assembly. If you were to bring that bike to your local mechanic or bike store, you would pay them their assembly fee. If you choose our Professional Assembly option for $200, our service technicians would assemble the bike before shipping and then re-pack the bike safely for transit. When you receive the bike you would attach the front wheel, attach the seatpost/saddle, and raise the handlebars and clamp them. Those three items do have to be detached to minimize or eliminate the chance of damage in transit.

How much does shipping cost?

For orders of parts, accessories, apparel, etc. on orders under $100, shipping is a flat rate of $9.99. Regular bike shipping without assembly is $150, bike shipping with Professional Assembly is an additional $200 (so $350 in total which includes the $150 of regular shipping). Our White Glove Delivery option is $699 and that will cover the assembly of the bike and our White Glove Delivery partner delivering your dream bike to your front door, ready to ride!

How can I track my order?

When you place your online order, you will receive an instantaneous email update with your order number and order details, and shortly after, you will receive a follow up order email with the tracking number for your order.  If you still need assistance with your order, feel free to email us at online@victorybicyclestudio.com and we will respond asap.
